The duration of the fellowships is for a continuous period (other than federal holidays and weekends) of eight (8) to twelve (12) continuous weeks. Applicants should be aware that participants are required to conduct their research on-site and that no leave will be granted during the U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program. Accompanying graduate students may not begin conducting research prior to the official arrival of their professor; neither may they continue conducting research once their professor has made his/her final departure from the facility.

All U.S. Air Force Research Lab Summer Faculty Fellowship Program participants at the Air Force Research Laboratory Directorates, Air Force Test Center, the U.S. Air Force Academy, and the Air Force Institute of Technology are considered guest investigators and are subject to Air Force regulations governing visiting scientists.
